Our Committees:
The Activities Programming Board (APB) carries out its mission of student engagement, involvement, and community building through 10 dedicated committees carried out by 10 student workers who serve as chairs. Each committee plays a vital role in transforming the student experience at VCU, aligning with the pillars of the Division of Student Affairs.
- Marketing Outreach – Connects directly with the student body to promote events and encourage active participation through personal outreach and campus presence such as tabling.
- Marketing and Communications – Manages digital and visual branding to share APB’s story, build awareness, and highlight opportunities for involvement.
- Showcase – Curates high-energy entertainment experiences including on stage experiences and large-scale performances that bring the VCU community together.
- Lectures – Hosts thought-provoking speakers and discussions that inspire learning, dialogue, and personal growth.
- Traditions – Preserves and celebrates VCU’s spirit through long-standing campus traditions and new experiences that build Ram Pride through campus wide initiatives such as Homecoming.
- Special Events – Designs unique, large-scale events that create shared memories and foster a fun, inclusive campus culture.
- Novelties – Provides engaging pop-up and themed activities that enhance everyday campus life with creativity and surprise such as make and take programs, movies, and bingos.
- Finance – Ensures responsible and strategic budgeting that supports impactful programming and student leadership development.
- Membership – Recruits and retains passionate student leaders, supporting their growth and engagement within APB and overseeing our dedicated Event Squad general body members.
- Spirit – Sparks Ram Pride through high-energy, interactive events that uplift campus morale and amplify school spirit during key university moments while uplifting the Black and Gold initiative.
Together, these committees provide a diverse range of opportunities for students to get involved, make meaningful connections, and leave a lasting legacy at VCU.
